Our Volunteers

The Dr. Jay Children’s Grief Centre has a variety of different volunteer opportunities:

Administrative Support

To help us as we continue to grow, we are always looking for support for our Administrative and Intake Coordinators, needs may include: data entry, filing, mailing, formatting newsletters or phoning families.

We are open to speaking to members of our community who may like to host charity or fundraising events or who have experience with grant writing. We also benefit from support from volunteers who are interested in attending events, setting up and cleaning up as well as spreading the word about our organization and its need for support within our community.

Family Nights

We need volunteers to support various aspects of our event during our monthly Family Nights. Our needs can often change depending on the type of event and the number of families/individuals in attendance. Volunteering at this event includes supporting with the general set up and clean up, greeting families at our registration table as well as supporting the event coordinator or counsellor with any needs that develop during the events.

Camp Erin

The camp will take place over one weekend. Volunteers are needed in the form of group leaders and camp buddies. Volunteers will be expected to attend training and meet and greets before the camp weekend. Please note that applications to volunteer for Camp Erin will be posted!

If your interests do not meet any of the opportunities above, please feel free to contact us about your volunteer interests. To learn more about volunteer opportunities in general, please complete the form below.
